About Heart and Mind Coaching

A coach who understands, because she lives it.

Heart and Mind Coaching was founded by Coach Shany, a mother raising a son on the autism spectrum. She knows what it's like when therapies, school meetings, paperwork, and your own hopes for your child all compete for the same twenty-four hours.

Out of years of practicing coaching skills inside her own family, she built a practical formula for moving parents from overwhelmed to in control — without pretending the hard days aren't hard.

This isn't generic parenting advice, and it isn't therapy. It's coaching built around the specific realities of raising a child with special needs: the logistics, the grief and joy that arrive on the same afternoon, and the goals you are still allowed to have for yourself.

The approach

How coaching actually works.

Four steps, in order — because progress with a family works better as a sequence than a scramble.

Step 01

Free discovery call

A no-pressure conversation about where you are, what's hardest right now, and whether coaching is the right fit for your family.

Step 02

A plan built around you

We set goals together — for your child, for you, and for the household — instead of applying someone else's script to your life.

Step 03

Sessions at your pace

Private or group sessions give you steady support, accountability, and a place to think out loud with someone who won't flinch at the hard parts.

Step 04

Milestones, marked

When something shifts — a diagnosis accepted, a goal reached, a new season starting — we mark it on purpose. Progress deserves to be noticed.

Questions

Before you book.

What is special needs life coaching, exactly?
It's forward-looking, goal-based support for parents and caregivers — not therapy and not medical treatment. The focus is practical strategy, confidence, and steadiness for you, so you're better resourced for your child.
Do you work with children, or with the parents?
Sessions are built for parents, caregivers, and family units. Coach Shany draws on her own experience raising a son on the autism spectrum to support the adults carrying the load.
Are sessions virtual or in person?
Both. Heart and Mind Coaching is based in Plantation, Florida for in-person sessions, and works with families anywhere by video.
What ages and situations do you support?
Families raising children with autism and other developmental, intellectual, or physical special needs — at any stage, from a brand-new diagnosis to planning for young adulthood.
How do I know which service is right for us?
Start with the free discovery call. We'll talk through what's happening and figure out together whether a private session, group coaching, a workshop, or something else is the right first step.
